Terms of use
Bahnsparer is currently free to use.
Scope
These terms apply to the bahnsparer.de website and the Bahnsparer app. The provider is Max Ritter; full details appear in the Legal notice.
Downloads and newsletter
Downloads are available without a newsletter subscription. The newsletter is voluntary and starts only after your email address is confirmed. You can unsubscribe from any email.
No affiliation with Deutsche Bahn
Bahnsparer is an independent product. It is not affiliated with Deutsche Bahn AG or any group company and is neither supported nor reviewed by them. All trademarks mentioned belong to their respective owners.
Prices and booking
Bahnsparer neither sells tickets nor brokers contracts. Displayed prices are non-binding guidance, may change at any time and use data available when requested. Only the price in the relevant provider's booking system is binding. The purchase contract is formed exclusively there.
Notifications
Price alerts are an aid, not a guarantee. The app checks saved routes in the background when the operating system grants it processing time—on Android no more often than every 15 minutes and on iOS at the system's discretion. No particular frequency is guaranteed, nor that every price drop will be detected or reported. A low fare may sell out before a notification reaches you.
Availability and changes
The app is available through the App Store and Google Play; installation files for macOS, Windows and Linux are available through bahnsparer.de. Features may change or be discontinued. There is no entitlement to permanent availability or any particular set of features.
Liability
My liability is unlimited for intent and gross negligence and for injury to life, body or health. For ordinary negligence, I am liable only for breach of an essential contractual duty and only for foreseeable loss typical of the contract. As use is currently free of charge, all other liability is excluded. Claims under the German Product Liability Act remain unaffected.
In particular, I accept no liability for foregone savings, missed offers or booking decisions based on displayed prices.
Fares from third-party providers
I operate no server for fare requests. You initiate each request yourself; it runs on your device and through your own internet connection, like visiting bahn.de in a browser. Neither your searches nor their results reach me.
These requests are subject to the relevant provider's terms; for Deutsche Bahn, those of DB Fernverkehr AG. Use Bahnsparer privately for your own journey planning. Commercial use, bulk requests, operating the app on another party's behalf, and passing on, publishing or reselling requested prices are prohibited.
The app requests data sparingly: one travel day uses one request, and a background check processes at most six days per watch. I will change or disable access at any time if a provider requests it.
If you hold rights in the requested data and object to this use, email me at mail@maxritter.net. I review every report promptly and will adjust or stop access.
Governing law
German law applies, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. Mandatory consumer-protection provisions of the country of your habitual residence remain unaffected.
Current as of 31 August 2026.
